Cardiology case, CCP Philadelphia County
– alleged failure to prescribe statins to treat long term severe hypercholesterolemia in a 69 year old male resulting in the need for coronary bypass surgery. Denise Juliana Defense verdict.
Primary Care/Nursing Home case, CCP Montgomery County
– alleged improper monitoring of the nutritional status and failing to recognize signs and symptoms of superior mesenteric artery syndrome in a 52 year old woman in a skilled nursing facility. The patient died and the cause of death was listed as septic shock caused by aspiration pneumonia, superior mesenteric artery syndrome and severe malnutrition.

Gastroenterology case, CCP Montgomery County
– alleged failure to properly treat abdominal pain in a 69 year old woman. The plaintiff claimed she was not timely referred to a vascular or general surgeon and ultimately suffered from bowel ischemia resulting in a permanent colostomy. Michael McGilvery Defense verdict.
ENT case, CCP Montgomery County
- velopharyngeal insufficiency following a tonsillectomy in a 29 year old woman. The patient requires on-going treatment and surgeries to relieve her symptoms. Denise Juliana Defense verdict.
Trauma Surgery case, CCP Montgomery County
– 16 year old male catastrophically injured in a motor vehicle accident, cared for by the trauma team and his life was saved. However, no one was aware that he wore contact lenses and by the time it was discovered, he had an eye infection and permanent damage. Michael McGilvery Defense verdict.
